Update February 15, 2022: Did you miss the show after the big game? Not to worry—you can still catch Foo Fighters in an Always On room in Horizon Venues, now through 11:59 pm PT on March 31, or watch the 2D replay on Facebook Watch.

Whether or not you’re a football fan, we’ve got an exciting reason to jump into VR after the big game: Foo Fighters will rock out in VR in Horizon Venues on February 13!* This is your chance to get free front-row seats to watch the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famers as they perform an exclusive concert in VR—all without leaving your house.

No headset? No problem! Read on to learn how you can experience the concert on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

Directed by famed music video director Mark Romanek, the concert was shot specifically for VR. With multiple 180° cameras positioned around the stage, the audience will always have the best seat in the house. This immersive experience features a custom stage design, practical effects, sophisticated lighting programs, and XR elements blended into the concert scene. It’s a performance that shows the surreal convergence of the physical and virtual—and it promises to be unlike any show previously hosted on the Meta Quest Platform.

The set list is being kept under wraps, but it will include some rarely played tracks—and one that’s never been heard in concert before.

“Foo Fighters love a challenge—from playing the biggest stages in the world to the tiniest clubs to making movies and miniseries… We’ve pretty much done it all,” says Foo Fighters founder and frontman Dave Grohl. “But we’ve never collaborated with Mark Romanek on a conceptual set of songs (including one being played live for the first time ever) for a worldwide audience, where everyone has the best seats in the house thanks to the most badass VR tech… until now. Join us when we cross that one off the FF bucket list!”

Can’t make the show? Not to worry—you’ll be able to catch the replay over the next month via an Always On room in Venues or on Oculus TV.

Never been to a show in Horizon Venues before? Simply download the app. Make sure your avatar is rocking the outfit you want (be sure to check out the NFL Super Bowl LVI t-shirts in the avatar editor), then head to the Venues lobby. You can meet up with fellow fans there before, during, and after the show, which will feature a custom, football-themed environment. Some of the lobby bays will also have doorways into Horizon Worlds where people 18+ in the US and Canada can jump into additional football-themed games and experiences, including Arena Clash: Quarterback Edition, a laser tag-inspired team game.

Want to watch it outside of your headset? That’s possible too. The concert will be available on Facebook Watch on the Foo Fighters Facebook Page and the Meta Quest Facebook Page as well as on Foo Fighters’ Instagram, and it will be featured on Messenger via Watch Together.

Whether you watch it in 2D or in VR, this is a truly unique and intimate concert-going experience—you’ll get to feel like you’re right there onstage with Foo Fighters as they perform. And in Horizon Venues, you can feel all the action and energy of a live event, dancing along with other fans, or you can choose solo mode for your own private show. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be a night to remember.

*The show will start at 8:00 pm PT or following the conclusion of the game, whichever occurs later.
