Celebrate the Best of VR with The Game Awards 2021 Nominations

It’s been a huge year for VR, led by all the amazing new games released for Quest 2. From AAA franchises and established IPs to breakout indie success stories, there’s been a little something for everyone in VR this year. To help celebrate all of those amazing experiences, The Game Awards return once again this year on December 9. The nominees for Best VR/AR just went live, and four out of the five nominees are available on the Quest and/or Rift Platforms:

  • I Expect You To Die 2 (Rift + Quest): In this puzzler from Schell Games, you’ll go deep undercover to thwart some dastardly plans for world domination. Your first mission is to protect the prime minister, who’s attending a theater production featuring world famous actor and celebrity John Juniper. All told, you’ll embark on six new missions, experience a brand-new 360° intro sequence, immerse yourself in a super spy story, and do your best to not, well, die.

  • Lone Echo II (Rift): In Lone Echo II, players will once again step into the role of the android Jack as he embarks on another captivating adventure alongside Captain Olivia “Liv” Rhodes. The highly-anticipated sequel to Lone Echo brings back all of the innovative features that made the original a favorite of players everywhere including zero-gravity controls, stunning visuals, and an epic, emotional story. Utilize a wide assortment of new tools and abilities to overcome complex challenges as you unravel the mysteries of the far future.

  • Resident Evil 4 (Quest 2): Explore the iconic world of Resident Evil 4 in this all-new version, entirely made for VR. Step into the shoes of special agent Leon S. Kennedy on his mission to rescue the US President’s daughter who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult. Find your way through a rural European village, come face to face with challenging enemies, and uncover secrets and gameplay that have revolutionized the entire survival horror genre. Battle horrific creatures infected by the Las Plagas parasite and face off against aggressive enemies including mind-controlled villagers as you discover their connection to Los Illuminados, the cult behind the abduction.

  • Sniper Elite VR (Rift + Quest): Southern Italy, 1943. Fascist forces occupy your homeland. Using stealth, authentic weaponry, and your skilled marksmanship as an elite sniper, fight for the Italian Resistance in this exhilarating first-person shooter. Take on an explosive standalone campaign with 18 replayable missions and hours of gameplay. Use stealth and cunning to outmanoeuvre enemy troops across levels packed with tactical possibilities. And witness the brutal effect of your shot as Sniper Elite’s signature kill-cam returns, rebuilt for VR.
