Don your shoulder pads and practice your war cries, because it’s time for Games Workshop’s fifth annual Warhammer Skulls games festival, which kicked off today with a Showcase featuring reveals and first looks.
Warhammer Skulls (formerly Skulls for the Skull Throne) is a celebration of all things Warhammer and video games, and this year we’re celebrating along with everyone else thanks to the release of the acclaimed Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister on the Oculus Quest Platform last year. If you want to join the party, you’ll find Battle Sister on sale for the duration of the event, now through June 10 at 10 AM PDT.
But wait, there’s more. Developer Pixel Toys rolled out the “Last Bastion” update in March, adding an endlessly replayable horde mode to Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister—and then followed it up at April’s Oculus Gaming Showcase by making the mode playable in online co-op and adding a pair of new maps. For the Skulls festival, they’re now adding a fourth map to the mix, “Heart of Dread.” Set deep within a Chaos Space vessel, you’ll fend off wave after wave of foes—and claim their skulls, of course.
Best of all, Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister releases on the Rift Platform today—and if you already bought it on Quest, you’ll find it waiting in your Rift library (or vice versa). Battle Sister is fully cross-buy, and also supports crossplay between Rift and Quest players, because no member of the Adepta Sororitas should have to fight alone.
So, to recap: Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister is out on the Rift Platform now, it’s on sale (on both Rift and Quest) through June 10, and there’s a new co-op map for you to cleanse with holy fire. Wishing you a happy Skulls festival, one and all.
