It’s been less than a year since Henry brought home VR’s first Emmy Award and less than three months since our friends at Baobab Studios won a well-deserved Daytime Emmy for Invasion! Today, we’re excited to share that three VR experiences produced by the Oculus Experiences team have been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Interactive Program!

Meet the Nominees
In Dear Angelica, a daughter’s memories of her mother unfold brushstroke by brushstroke around you. Thanks to Quill, this illustrative story was painted entirely by hand in VR.

Ever dreamed of becoming an astronaut? In Mission:ISS, created by Magnopus, you can explore the International Space Station and experience zero-gravity.

Available on both Rift and Gear VR, The People’s House: Inside the White House with Barack and Michelle Obama combines the visual storytelling skills of Felix & Paul Studios with one of the most iconic buildings in American history.

The Road Ahead
As more filmmakers and artists begin working in VR, we’ll continue to see the platform evolve as an art form in its own right. We’re committed to bringing even more immersive and artistic experiences to the Oculus Platform. That’s why we previously announced that we’re carving out $50M to fund non-gaming VR content. We hope all of this year‘s interactive program Emmy nominees inspire even more creators to dive into VR.

Congratulations to the nominees!
