The VR Challenger League recently wrapped ESL Hamburg, where our Top 4 European Echo Arena teams faced off. Team JACKs was crowned the victor and secured a spot in the grand finals in Poland in 2018. Today, we’re sharing some details about this weekend’s VRCL event at IEM Oakland—but first, we’re excited to announce the Alienware VR Cup featuring Sprint Vector!

Presented by NVIDIAGeForce GTX, Survios, and Oculus, the Alienware VR Cup* kicks off today and runs through December 10. We’re hitting 14 LAN Centers across the US, where competitors will battle it out for their chance at one of eight slots to go head-to-head at the Live Championship during CES in Las Vegas!

With $10K USD-worth of hardware on the table, there’s plenty at stake—plus swag, giveaways, and prizes at each competition. Visit alienwarearena.com/VRcup to learn more or register—and if you’re in the area, check out the action at The Grid Cyber Lounge (Tempe, AZ), Gamerz Funk (Taylorsville, UT) and PC Gamerz Hawaii (Aiea, HI) today!

VRCL Spotlight: IEM Oakland
The esports action continues at Intel Extreme Masters Oakland, where the VR Challenger League** North American Regionals for The Unspoken are in full swing this weekend.

Some familiar faces will be in attendance. Philadelphia’s Charizard, who took home the grand prize during The Unspoken VR Tournament, is currently ranked third among The Unspoken competitors in North America, while finalists ServError (Huntington, NY), Nerdburglar (Huntington Beach, CA), and Vidman321 hold the No. 4, 6, and 7 spots, respectively.

Catch all the action during the finals on November 19. Watch from the best seat in the house on the Facebook 360 app for Gear VR (under Popular 360 Videos), or check out the 2D livestream on the VR Challenger League and Oculus Rift Facebook pages!

Good Luck, Have Fun!
We’re also excited to share that we partnered with Anykey, ESL, and Intel to promote online gaming citizenship through the GLHF Pledge. An open and welcoming player community means better camaraderie and competition for everyone, and we’re proud to help create a gaming ecosystem that welcomes and includes everyone. Those who take the pledge can get an exclusive Twitch badge to help spread the word. Click here to learn more or take the pledge today.

It’s amazing to see the enthusiasm around VR esports continue to grow. We look forward to sharing even more updates soon!
