Pre-orders for ARKTIKA.1 opened up last month, and we’re less than a week from its release on Rift. This is the first VR title from 4A Games—the makers of the popular Metro franchise—and we’re anxiously counting down the days until its arrival. Today, we’re excited to debut the official ARKTIKA.1 launch trailer:

ARKTIKA.1 hits the Oculus Store October 10. Pre-order your copy by 11:59 pm PT on October 9 then to save 10% off the regular purchase price of $29.99!

Brass Tactics Moves to February 2018
We’re doubling down on Brass Tactics and taking a little more time to add a lot more content.

Brass Tactics is now scheduled to launch on February 22, 2018. With the extra development time, Hidden Path Entertainment plans to introduce new units and more tech tree options for even more RTS fun.

“Up until now, we’ve had a balanced set of eight standard units that everyone had access to in-game: archers, warriors, cavalry, tanks, mechanics, artillery, wasps, and the titan,” says Game Director Michael Austin. “We’re nearly doubling the number of choices and breaking the symmetry between players. You can easily choose one of the thematic sets we’ve created, or you can customize your own and pick the eight units that best represent the way you like to play.”

Building upon the theme of customization, specific tech tree paths are now tied to the units in your set for a greater number of choices, while branching options let you adjust to your opponent’s strategy mid-game. “If they have a lot of air units, pick fire archers to counter them,” Austin explains. “If they have ground units, the extra tough skirmish archers may be a better bet.”

We’ll host an open multiplayer beta in January, so you’ll be able to get hands-on with some of the new developments and share feedback with the devs as they continue to fine tune the game’s balance.

“The best feeling in the world as a game developer is to take a great game and make it awesome,” notes Austin. “Once you’re at that point where you’ve put in all the features, each day and week is transformative in making the game better—momentum really picks up. We’re going even farther down that path, ensuring the best possible experience for players at launch.”

Stay tuned to the blog for more details as we get closer to the new release date. In the meantime, check back next week for announcements coming out of OC4!
