Whether you’re a Quest owner or have been with us since the original Rift, you've seen the quality and variety of our VR content grow exponentially. Our Oculus content library is the best it's ever been. In just the past year we released critically acclaimed titles like Asgard’s Wrath and Stormland and brought the VR community together with Echo VR’s glorious multiplayer action on Quest.

We’re just getting started though. Today we announced Oculus Quest 2. Thanks to its advanced capabilities, we’ve been able to bring in more developers from around the world and work closely with them to create original, high quality, and cutting-edge VR content. We’re proud of all the experiences that have been developed for this device, as well as our existing Quest and Rift headsets, and we shared a number of exciting announcements during today’s Facebook Connect.

Below you’ll find details on the announcements, including some familiar names like Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, and classic puzzler Myst, plus Beat Saber’s multiplayer mode, a new Star Wars game, a release date for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond (on Steam!), and more.

Ubisoft Partnership

We believe VR is the future of gaming, and we’re excited that our partners agree. Having released Eagle Flight, Werewolves Within, and Star Trek™: Bridge Crew with Oculus, Ubisoft is now bringing two of its AAA franchises to VR with new entries in the Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell universes. Both games are being developed from the ground up by Ubisoft’s Red Storm in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Dusseldorf, and Ubisoft Mumbai. We’re excited to share more with you soon, so stay tuned!

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge

Having finished delving into the Dark Lord’s past with the award-winning Vader Immortal series, ILMxLAB returned to Connect this year to show off Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. Players will explore the wilds of Batuu and the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost, the famed setting of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the epic new land at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Featuring fan favorite characters like C-3PO, R2-D2, Jedi Master Yoda, and brand new characters like the chatty bartender Seezelslak, Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge will launch you into a spirited Star Wars adventure that evolves and expands even after its launch this holiday season. Step onto Batuu, without ever leaving your home!

Launching this holiday season on the Quest Platform.

Jurassic World Aftermath

Set two years after the fall of Jurassic World, the suspenseful Jurassic World Aftermath sends you back to Isla Nublar in search of confidential research materials lost in the evacuation. The problem? A crash landing has left you stranded in the rundown ruins of a now-abandoned research facility—and deadly Velociraptors stalk your every move. You’ll have to rely on your wits (and a bit of luck) to escape the island alive in this tense and thrilling adventure from Universal Games and Digital Platforms and Coatsink Games.

Jurassic World Aftermath is coming soon to the Quest Platform.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond

Three years ago, we announced a partnership between Oculus Studios and Respawn Entertainment, creators of the acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™, Titanfall™, and Apex Legends™. Now, the wait is finally (almost) over. Today, we announced that you’ll be able to storm the beaches of Normandy, aid the French Resistance, and liberate Europe starting December 11 on both the Rift Platform and on Quest via Oculus Link (compatible PC also required).

What’s more, we revealed that Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will launch simultaneously on the Oculus Store and on Steam with full SteamVR and cross-play support.

POPULATION: ONE

With POPULATION: ONE, BigBox VR created a battle royale that is only possible in VR. Its unique Vertical Combat System gives players the freedom to climb anything, fly anywhere, and fight everywhere. It’s chaotic, it’s exhilarating, and delivers limitless combat possibilities. After launch, the action never stops with ongoing live in-game events and fresh content to explore.

Coming soon to Quest and Rift Platforms.

Beat Saber Multiplayer + BTS Music Pack

It’s time to figure out which of your friends is actually good at Beat Saber and who’s just pretending. Today we announced that multiplayer is coming to the celebrated rhythm game day-and-date with the Quest 2 launch. At long last you’ll be able to slash through blocks and jam to your favorite tunes alongside a friend—or many friends. It’s the biggest update to Beat Saber since the game’s release, and we’re excited to get it into your hands soon.

But wait, there’s more! Music is the lifeblood of Beat Saber, and we can’t wait to continue the Quest 2 launch celebration alongside BTS and their recently revealed TinyTAN characters, whose personalities are inspired by each member of the acclaimed septet. Starting in November, VR users can learn the dance moves and experience 12 of the group’s hit songs in the new BTS Music Pack.

Beat Saber adds multiplayer on October 13 on both the Quest and Rift Platforms. The BTS Music Pack releases in November.

Myst

“Perhaps the ending has not yet been written.” It’s been nearly three decades since players first heard those words and stepped into the world of Myst. Now old fans and newcomers alike will get to explore its iconic Ages like never before, as Cyan gears up to release Myst on the Quest Platform. Built from the ground up for VR, this reimagined version of the classic puzzle game features updated art and interactions—and even an optional puzzle randomizer, for those who long ago memorized the island’s secrets and are looking for a fresh take on their Myst experience from 1993.

Coming to Quest Platform later this year.

The Climb 2

Building on the success of the 2016 original, Crytek’s latest celebration of rock climbing is better-looking than ever. Featuring 15 new maps, you’ll scale snow-covered peaks, desert buttes, and even skyscrapers, one impossibly small handhold at a time. Compare your times to others on The Climb 2’s leaderboards, participate in global events, and more. Just don’t look down.

The Climb 2 is coming soon to the Quest Platform.

Warhammer 40,000 Battle Sister

Don unstoppable power armor, embrace devastating weapons and wargear, and get ready to battle for the fate of humanity in Warhammer 40,000 Battle Sister, releasing this holiday season. Players will step into the boots of Sister Ophelia as she takes on the hundreds of enemies standing between her and her lost twin sister in this immersive, action-packed shooter from Pixel Toys. Whether you’re an existing Warhammer fan or not, Battle Sister is shaping up to be one of the year’s most intense shooters.

Releasing on Quest Platform later this year.

Pistol Whip 2089

In 2089, a plague of killer androids has overrun an offworld colony, leaving only one hero with the mettle needed to shut it all down. Coming this holiday season, Pistol Whip 2089 expands Cloudhead’s acclaimed rhythm-shooter with a gritty sci-fi action campaign, featuring new weapons, a new robotic threat, and a new synthwave-inspired soundtrack. Prepare for the orbital assault and become the ultimate action hero.

Pistol Whip: 2089 launches this holiday on Quest and Rift Platforms.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners has been terrifying Rift users for most of 2020, but we know everyone wants the opportunity to fight their way through a zombie-filled New Orleans. Today developer Skydance Interactive, in partnership with Skybound Entertainment, revealed that Saints & Sinners will also come to the Quest Platform when Quest 2 launches in October. Shape the fates of your fellow survivors over the course of the 15-hour campaign—and try your best to stay alive.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners will release on the Quest Platform on October 13.

Sniper Elite VR

“One bullet can change the course of a war.” No pressure, but in Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR the fate of the world lies in your hands. Set in World War II-era Italy, you’re tasked with liberating your homeland one well-placed bullet at a time. Take a deep breath, steady your aim, and hope nobody is within earshot as you explore intricately crafted levels full of tactical possibilities. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Sniper Elite game without the X-ray kill camera. Don’t worry, that’s been redesigned for VR as well.

Sniper Elite VR is coming soon to Quest and Rift Platforms.

Spotlight on Japan

There’s a strong (and growing!) Oculus fanbase in Japan, so today we’re pleased to announce extensive partnerships with Japanese publishers and developers. When Quest 2 launches in Japan later this year, it will be available in more stores than ever—and feature more content as well, with games like Kizuna AI - Touch the Beat!, Rez Infinite, Space Channel 5 VR Kinda Funky News Flash!, and Little Witch Academia VR available day one.

We’re committed to funding development in Japan over the long term. Japan has a long and storied history in game development, and we’re excited to play a part in bringing ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos, Puzzle Bobble, and many, many more games to Oculus headsets in the future.

We’ve highlighted a ton of games today, but it’s the barest tip of the iceberg when it comes to both the Quest and Rift Platforms. We are so excited to share more about our plans with AAA partners like Ubisoft, and just as excited to reveal our favorite upcoming indie darlings. Stay tuned, because there is plenty to talk about over the next few months and years.
