We wanted to share a quick update on what we’ve been up to:

New Office

We finally moved into our new office in Irvine, CA with more space for the ever-growing team. We’re still getting setup, but the office is coming together nicely, with a full hardware lab, 3D printing room, even a small mo-cap VR space for testing and calibration of tracking hardware.

Manufacturing Update

We’re putting the finishing touches on the tooling for the first version of developer kits now, trying to squeeze in a few key features without delaying, but time is against us. We want to nail down every last detail before announcing anything.

We can’t show any of the SLAs quite yet (they’d give away a few secrets), but here’s a sample of our progress:

Changing Your Shipping Address

If you need to change your shipping address, please send an email to with your full name, Kickstarter email address, and Amazon transaction ID.

We’ll let everyone know the exact date the kits are slated to ship, so there will be a few days lead time for last minute address changes.

Palmer will be keynoting the Evolve conference in December. “Virtual Reality: The Holy Grail of Gaming”, will focus on where virtual reality technology is going and how it’s advances might impact the game industry. ran an article naming Oculus one of the top 5 “Best Bets in Gaming”. We had the legendary Chris Roberts, creator of Wing Commander, by the office to swap tech demos. He showed us a stunning demo for his upcoming game, Star Citizen, which is slated to be Oculus VR™-ready with incredibly intense space dog-fighting.
