A virtual home filled with endless experiences to discover and explore, Alcove is a place to connect with loved ones, packed with casual games, world travel, media customization, relaxation, and adventure. It’s currently available on Oculus Go, and it’s coming to Oculus Quest on August 20.
“We created Alcove to be ‘your family corner in VR’—that calm place to be in and go back to when you’re not playing big games, when you want to just hang out on your own or with your dear ones,” says Alcove Creator and Producer Cezara Windrem. “Alcove is a destination and a portal to new worlds. It’s a safe space in VR where you can bring your friends and family, hang out, and have fun together.”
Developed by AARP Innovation Labs, Alcove was highlighted by Forbes as among “the best at CES” 2020. It’s been covered by publications ranging from CNET and VentureBeat to Fast Company and OZY, which dubbed it “[a] virtual reality program that could one day replace social media sites like Facebook or Instagram as the go-to spot for online interaction between friends and family.”
