Earlier this week, Topgolf with Pro Putt rebranded to GOLF+—a new name that better represents its commitment to all aspects of the game of golf, from mini golf and putting with Pro Putt, to casually hitting shots with friends at Topgolf, to a full course experience with real clubs, real courses, and real physics.
Today, GOLF+ launched a full course update, including a clubhouse, a driving range and practice area, an 18-hole oceanside course, Callaway clubs, multiplayer, and difficulty settings for any skill level. And a partnership with Wolf Creek Golf Course in Mesquite, Nevada means you can now play that epic course in VR as a $7.99 USD in-app purchase.
GOLF+ has also partnered with the PGA to bring a number of their courses to the game in the coming months, including Valhalla, the site of past and future PGA Championships and a Ryder Cup. The developers will be continuously working with the PGA to bring more aspects of the sport into VR in the coming years, including instruction and training. Look for Valhalla to join the game’s lineup as an in-app purchase this winter.
“We want to make golf as accessible as possible and we believe VR is the way to do that,” says GOLF+ Co-Founder and CEO Ryan Engle. “Whether you’ve been playing golf for the majority of your life, like Rob [Holzhauer] and me, or you’re just getting started, we want to make the experience as seamless and fun as possible, while staying true to the sport.”
