Today, we’re excited to share that Sony Pictures’ brand-new Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle experience is now available to try on PC, mobile devices, and VR headsets including Rift, and coming next week to the Oculus Browser on Gear VR. In or outside of a VR headset, you can explore the world of Jumanji before the film’s release on December 20.

Now, you can jump into the jungle and let the game play you. In a first-of-its-kind interactive 360° video scavenger hunt, experience what it’s like to get sucked into the world of Jumanji. Through a series of tasks, anyone on Facebook can explore the mysteries of the jungle, learn about the characters, and get a sneak peek at how the legend unfolds. Search for hidden items to help Spencer (Dwayne Johnson), Bethany (Jack Black), Fridge (Kevin Hart), and Martha (Karen Gillan) find their way back home.

Speaking of Dwayne Johnson, check out his Facebook post for a taste of what to expect!

The interactive 360° experience is built in React VR—a WebVR framework—and runs in Facebook News Feed, so you can share and invite friends to join in on the fun.

“Building an immersive experience for this movie was a goal from the start. It was important for us to give fans the opportunity to journey into the rich world of Jumanji. Interactive 360° video and the React VR platform was the perfect solution,” says Sony Pictures Executive Vice President, Digital Marketing Elias Plishner. “We were blown away with the technology and the fact that it could be easily accessed on a platform people use every day.”

Sony Pictures worked with AvatarLabs, Oculus, and the Facebook Creative Shop to create a truly innovative digital campaign.

“We partnered early on with the Sony team to review the script and develop creative ideas to bring people into the film even before the movie began shooting,” notes Facebook Creative Shop's North America Head of Entertainment, Jen Louis Barrett. “We captured the treehouse on set—a key element of the narrative and a location that bridges both the first Jumanji film and this next part of the story—in 360° video, giving us an authentic experience from the film that we could share with audiences in never-before-seen ways.”

As you explore the treehouse, you’ll unlock content along the way—including behind-the-scenes footage you won’t find anywhere else.

If you’re in VR, visit jumanji360.com on a WebVR-enabled browser to get started. A fully supported version will arrive in Oculus Browser for Gear VR on November 21. Jump into the jungle today!
