Last week at GDC, we officially announced Oculus Rift S and confirmed that Beat Saber will be playable on Quest from Day 1. With PAX East kicking off tomorrow in Boston, we’re excited to share where gamers can find us, pull back the curtain on a brand-new Stormland trailer, and reveal a new addition to the Quest launch lineup from Harmonix!
This is shaping up to be our biggest PAX yet, and to celebrate, we’re hosting a dozen VR gaming creators at Booth #18043. And join us Thursday through Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm ET as we get hands-on with some of 2019’s most anticipated immersive titles and share play-throughs with the community during the Rift S Showcase!
Swing by Booth #15043 for all the latest Oculus demos: gamers at PAX East can slash their way through EDM hits in Beat Saber, practice their backswing and more in Sports Scramble, and take on treacherous foes in Journey of the Gods—all without wires, external sensors, or a PC.
For those who prefer their VR powered by a gaming PC, you can take a virtual load off in Vacation Simulator from Owlchemy Labs, fly through a WWII dogfight in Phaser Lock Interactive’s recently released RTS Final Assault, and unleash the might of Norse gods in Asgard’s Wrath from Sanzaru Games and Oculus Studios—complete with inside-out tracking and Passthrough+ on Rift S.
Prepare to reclaim your world as you journey through forgotten ruins in a new demo of Stormland—a AAA title with an open-world structure from Insomniac Games and Oculus Studios. You can find our android in Booth #15043 for a photo op as part of PAX XP—stop by for a pic, an Oculus pin, and a chance to win tons of cool prizes!
Can’t make it out to Boston? Here’s a fresh look at the game that topped UploadVR’s list of Rift S heavy hitters:
Of course, what PAX would be complete without some VR Freeplay action? Take a break from the booth lines to check out Beat Saber, Fruit Ninja VR, In Death, Robo Recall, Space Junkies, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, and Windlands 2—all on Rift.
With a 32-song soundtrack, Dance Central lets you perfect your moves to chart-toppers from the 1970s through today’s hits with plenty of killer jams in between. Here’s a sneak peek at the tunes in store:
Whether you prefer competitive or co-op multiplayer or would rather dance with no one watching, there’s a gameplay mode for you. Practice your steps in the Studio, where you can break down each move and make the most of optional assistive UI to analyze your performance. Kick it up a notch in the Club, where you can climb the leaderboards and get to know the game’s characters by hanging out with them on the main floor, at the bar, by the entrance, or in the VIP area. Over in the Lounge, you can host private and public dance parties for up to four people and mix things up with a selection of mini-games.
Bust out your own dance moves with a single-player Quest demo in Booth #15055, plus watch a multiplayer dance battle during the Rift S Showcase on Friday and Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm ET in Booth #18043. And tune into a special livestream from Harmonix TONIGHT at 5:00 pm ET on Twitch or Mixer.
We can’t wait to see you in the club!
