Welcome to another installment of Oculus Tips & Tricks. Each episode will deliver score-boosting intel from the developer community to help new players maximize their performance.
Today, we’re taking a look at Arizona Sunshine on the Oculus Quest and Rift platforms. Arizona Sunshine puts you and up to three fellow survivors in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Survive solo or in co-op, handle weapons with real-life movements, and explore a post-apocalyptic world in VR.
Leading with our biggest tip: Aim for the head! This will take out a zombie instantly. Ammo is sparse in Arizona Sunshine, so make sure you take out the undead Freddies with as few bullets as possible. If you run out of ammo, you also run out of luck. So look around carefully. You may find precious precious ammo... or new weapons, and even hamburgers that refill your health!
Bring a friend! (Or two or three for Horde Mode) You are stronger together. Having someone watch your back while you reload is vital and getting that new weapon from a difficult spot is easier with someone on your side. If you have each other's back, you might both make it out alive! If you’re looking for fellow survivors to team up with, join our official Arizona Sunshine Discord Channel.
Every now and then, you’ll encounter a whole horde of hangry Freddies. When facing many zombies always check your exits. In case you need a way out… or to anticipate where they come from in the first place. And prioritize. Take out the fast ones first. When you feel overwhelmed, try slowing the enemy down by going for the legs! If you’re low on health you can outrun the slow ones. At least for a while...
AZS offers a range of comfort settings so get to know your preferred way to play. If the default teleportation method isn't your thing when exploring the VR zombie apocalypse, try switching to smooth locomotion in the setting menu using the tape in the trailer. The survival of mankind depends on it.
To bump up your Horde Mode score, choose your weapons carefully and try to count your bullets. Jumping into the zombie apocalypse guns blazing sure is fun, but if you’re going for a new high score keep in mind your accuracy. The best way to aim is to try and line up the sights on the weapon. And go for the explosive barrels!
