Today, we’re taking a look at POPULATION: ONE on on the Quest or Rift Platforms. POPULATION: ONE delivers unparalleled freedom and mobility with its unique Vertical combat System. Fly through the map to rain down bullets from above. Climb anything you see to gain the high ground advantage. Build strategic cover to protect your squad. Use your environment to fight anywhere!
We scored a few tips from the fine folks at BigBox VR, so grab your gear and get ready to jump!
“You can climb anything in POPULATION: ONE. In fact, if you want the best shot at winning, you need to master climbing! Use your environment strategically to gain the height advantage. Keep an eye on your surroundings, and climb up to high ground for the best position before the fighting begins.”
“In POPULATION: ONE, the battlezone moves fast. Check your minimap often and actively move to better positioning before the battlezone forces you into a bad situation. If you get caught outside the battlezone, climb something tall and fly off towards the safe area. Flying is twice as fast as walking!”
“Reach forward and use your grab button to two hand your gun. This will reduce recoil to give you more accurate shots. Use a two handed grip and iron sights for the most accurate firing.”
“Get ready to reload! In POPULATION: ONE every gun has a two step reload process, but this can be tough while in the heat of battle. Keep an eye on your ammo so you know when you’re almost out and need to duck behind cover. You can also use the right joystick to force eject the magazine to reload in between fights.”
“Looking for a speed boost while climbing? You can use your own momentum to “fling” yourself further and faster by pulling down rapidly and releasing your grip button to launch yourself upwards. Flinging makes climbing faster, easier, and more fluid.”
