We’re delighted to share that five Oculus-supported VR experiences will be debuting at New Frontier at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2018! This is our fourth year at the festival, and these titles demonstrate just how far VR entertainment and storytelling have come.

Check out what will be on view:

Created by Here Be Dragons and directed by Edward Robles, Dispatch follows a small-town police dispatcher (Martin Starr, Silicon Valley) as he faces an all-night crime spree. The experience takes you inside the dispatcher’s perspective in this episodic, audio-based miniseries. The first three episodes launched on Rift and Gear VR in November, and we can’t wait for the cliffhanger finale!

Masters of the Sun

Presented by the Black Eyed Peas, Masters of the Sun takes place during the ’80s when ancient and modern forces of evil started destroying black communities. Voices including Rakim, Queen Latifah, KRS-One, Jason Isaacs, Slick Rick, and comic industry legend Stan Lee tell the story of mobilization and reclaiming their city, fighting back against the evils of drugs, crime and discrimination.

Space Explorers

The latest project from Felix & Paul Studios, Space Explorers lets you reach new heights through the power of VR. Created in partnership with NASA, the experience follows their astronauts as they prepare to launch into space.

An episodic VR journey through the universe from creator Eliza McNitt, Spheres explores the music of the cosmos. The first chapter, “Songs Of Spacetime,” will debut at the festival.

Wolves in the Walls

From the team behind the Emmy-winning project Henry comes Wolves in the Walls, a gorgeous, interactive adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s and Dave McKean’s haunting work brought to life in VR.

The Evolution of Immersive Entertainment
From brand-new episodic series to adaptations of existing and beloved IP, these projects explore the intersections of sound and sight, culture and commentary, the everyday and the extraordinary. We’re proud to have worked with these content creators to elevate VR as an art form, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
