Zero Caliber is a military FPS with on-the-fly customizable weapons and a singular mission: saving humanity in a near-future dystopia. PvP mode and cross-platform play are on the horizon, and you can dive into the narrative-driven campaign and co-op mode today on Rift!

“Our development process has always been entwined with our community’s feedback,” explains Mark Ablonczy of XREAL Games. “We can’t wait to share our project and the upcoming PvP mode with Oculus users in Early Access. Their feedback will truly help us bring Zero Caliber to its full potential.”

The team’s been hard at work to overhaul the game’s AI, driving toward a significant improvement with updated behavior and realistic animations. They had been teasing the community for weeks as they geared up for the update.

And then the internal playtests began.

“We were excited until we noticed a strange behavior,” remembers Ablonczy. “Our AI suddenly decided that chasing butterflies was more important than going into battle.”

After a good laugh and dubbing the internal build “the butterfly effect,” the team dug into the code and continued to polish the AI before pushing the update live.
