Andy Tsen and Lauren Frazier met in 2017 as participants in Oculus Launch Pad, a program designed to support up-and-coming VR creators from diverse backgrounds with hands-on training and support. The pair launched Conjure Strike in 2018 and went on to form Ramen VR. Today, they’re debuting a new trailer for their next title: Zenith: The Last City, an MMORPG inspired by the likes of World of Warcraft, Dark Souls, and Ultima Online, coming to the Oculus Quest and Rift Platforms.
Classes in Zenith: The Last City are customizable, so you can lead from the front as a mage or up your sword fighting game with healing ability. Players get to design their characters and then further customize them in-game by unlocking specialized powers.
Zenith: The Last City’s overarching story will guide you across the world, but ultimately you choose your path. A procedural quest system will tailor quest’s to your current level and abilities, though you’ll have the ability to choose your own adventure and decide which factions to support as you build your reputation. Rewards are variable and randomized to keep things interesting.
The expansive world spans multiple biomes, so there’s plenty to explore. You can also climb any surface and glide to any destination.
As you explore the world, you’ll also learn specialized crafting skills, which play out in mini-games where you’ll prepare meals, wash herbs, and perform other activities to make new items. As crafting expands, you’ll be able to make armor, weapons, and more.
