Deadline: April 13, 2018
We kicked the Oculus VR for Good initiative and its Creators Lab program in 2016 to help leverage the immersive power of VR to inspire positive social change. Since then, we’ve paired 20 rising content creators with various nonprofit organizations to spread global awareness of important issues ranging from human trafficking and domestic abuse to marine conservation efforts, justice reform, and beyond. Over the past two years, we’ve had Creators Lab projects accepted into major film festivals including SXSW and Tribeca—and the momentum continues to grow.
We’re committed to funding innovative and artistic VR experiences that push the boundaries of the medium and challenge audiences’ preconceptions about the world. Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of VR for Good’s 2018 Creators Lab program.
Now in its third consecutive year, Creators Lab will once again bring together content creators and nonprofits to produce transformative VR experiences that highlight an important need for social change.
Applications are open now through 11:59 pm PT on April 13, 2018. Content creators and nonprofit organizations across the globe are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity to impact audiences in VR. Selected participants will join us in California June 6 – 8, 2018, for a two-and-a-half-day summit featuring workshops, brainstorming, and community building. Click here for more information and instructions on how to apply.
Through Creators Lab, we work with individuals and organizations who champion a number of worthwhile causes to showcase VR’s potential to change lives and motivate us to take action. We also challenge and support our content creators in their quest to tell meaningful stories that transcend political divides.
If you’re a socially-conscious VR content creator who wants to give back to the global community or a nonprofit with an important story to share, apply now.
We look forward to helping you realize your vision, one VR experience at a time.
