As an Optical Engineering Intern at Oculus, you will work on optical system/component design, characterization, prototyping and metrology development for next generation consumer virtual reality products. You will be asked to conquer some optical challenges and solve some interesting problems in creative and insightful ways.


  • You’ll be responsible for researching, prototyping and implementing a project in the virtual reality space during your internship. You’ll work with and get feedback from the cross-functional engineering team at Oculus during the project.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in optical engineering or related field and working towards a BS, MS or PhD
  • Knowledge of imaging, diffractive and/or viewing optics design
  • Knowledge of optical component metrology
  • Strong in sequential or non-sequential optical simulation software, e.g. Zemax, Code V, Light Tool etc
