Oculus Research is building on our expertise in virtual reality systems to begin the development of augmented reality (AR). This moves us from a technology whose primary application has been in entertainment to one that could replace the smart phone and computers as the primary device for communication, work and entertainment. Understanding aspects of the human cognitive system, such as memory and decision making, is central to our ability to design AR systems for the improvement of these functions. Oculus Research is looking for researchers with expertise in Cognitive Science to help guide the design of systems and content for interactive user experiences. To this end, we perform experiments and develop computational models to improve our understanding of the cognitive system with an eye to using this knowledge for developing of AR systems that can deliver experiences people want.
Oculus research is seeking research interns with expertise in human memory and/or attention and methodological techniques such as EEG and/or eye tracking to advance AR technologies. Our internship is twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
