We are currently seeking an innovative optical engineer with experience in designing and modeling advanced optical systems for near-to-eye display applications. This is a full-time position and requires a degree in optical engineering, physics, or similar, and a strong background in optical design and innovation. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional team and exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive development of component and sub-system requirements for wearable displays, and advance technologies necessary to create product architectures to delivering system requirements
  • Drive modeling, prototyping and validation of component technologies for future AR displays
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to create robust testing and prototyping capabilities for validating component technologies towards size, weight, cost and performance targets

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. or higher) in the field of Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with optical modeling and hands of laboratory work to validate optical components and systems
  • Experience with Design of Experiment methodologies such as Six Sigma and related statistical analysis using tools such as JMP or Minitab
  • Knowledge of optics including systems design and integration, imaging, illumination, polarization optics, adaptive optics, visual optics and color science
  • Understanding of light sources (lasers and LED’s), spatial light modulators, diffractive optics, optical materials, and thin films optics
  • Experience in optical design tools such as Code V, Zemax, Light Tools or FRED
  • Familiarity with optical metrology tools such as interferometry, image quality testing, polarization test, etc.
