As an experienced Technical Artist on the Oculus VR team, you will be working on the cutting edge of Virtual Reality. With our team, you will explore, prototype, and build experiences that help define the future of VR. You love solving novel problems from first principles. Work alongside expert Software Engineers, Interactive Designers, and Artists to create the technology that makes VR pervasive and universal.   • Develop experience prototypes working as a technical art generalist on a small team
  • Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to define and develop content in Unreal Engine 4 (UE4)
  • Conceptualize, present and execute ideas within time and technical constraints while actively participating in technical, artistic, and creative problem solving
  • Design, execute, and support complex asset solutions involving but not limited to 3D content and VFX
  • Work closely with engineers to implement interactive objects and systems in UE4 Blueprint
  • Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of VR/AR problem solving in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • General 3D asset content creation including modeling, texturing, materials, and lighting, at both mobile and high end specs
  • Knowledge of UE4 across its features and systems
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and asset creation packages like Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, ZBrush, Knald, Marmoset, etc.
  • Experience creating UE4 Blueprints for interactive gameplay systems
  • Experience with VFX solutions including Houdini, FumeFX, and Maya Fluids
  • 5+ years of experience in game development or indie game development as a Technical Artist
  • Content development experience, including shipping one or more titles
  • Demonstrated experience with game optimization techniques
