Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The Building 8 team will apply DARPA-style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships to accelerate growth. The Business Development team at Building 8 is a small, agile team looking for people who are passionate about innovative consumer hardware, product, content, deals and business strategy. This individual will be highly collaborative, working with internal teams in product, engineering, UX design, go-to-market and product marketing to drive our goals across content experiences. We love Business Development “athletes” with backgrounds in consumer hardware, VR/AR, content acquisition, platforms and growth. If the traits below resonate, we should definitely talk.   • Source, define, model and negotiate strategic deals for Building 8
  • Collaborate with the head of content ecosystem at Building 8 to define a vision and strategy for the content ecosystem and roadmap
  • Align all partnership related execution plans with the overall product strategy
  • Work with Building 8 engineering and product teams on partnership opportunities that evaluate and explore strategic opportunities
  • Represent Building 8 in meetings with executives from other companies
  • Develop outstanding strategic relationships with internal and external partners and business teams in order to collaborate on ecosystem development and business processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS
  • 7+ years of Consumer Tech Industry experience
  • 7+ years negotiation experience, including experience with legal aspects of negotiations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven commercial leadership with business development experience at start-ups and large consumer Internet/technology companies
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities
  • Highly strategic and capable of driving internal stakeholders to a consensus on important issues
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, always-on, highly ambiguous start-up environment
  • Proven track record with high standards of professionalism
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, highly organized
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial environment with little supervision
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth or start-up technology company
  • MBA
