Communications Manager, PC Product

Oculus is looking for a highly motivated Communications Manager to join the Product team supporting PC VR product. The ideal candidate is someone who can work with executives, engineers, product leads and partners, is a strong writer, presents exceptional organizational skills, has experience working with national business and consumer media and can think creatively to help broaden the impact of product communications. This person should have experience working in a communications function for consumer products and have strong media relationships.
This person will be a key member of a strategic communications team that's responsible for leading PR for Oculus and Facebook's VR products and initiatives. Being able to work quickly and be comfortable with fluid situations in an always changing industry is key. This person should also have a deep appreciation of the core Oculus community as well as a passion for virtual reality and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead strategic media relations programs for PC VR products
  • Lead PR and communications for PC hardware and software product launches and maintain the product launch calendar
  • Interface and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across Oculus and Facebook
  • Manage external PR agencies to design and execute media campaigns
  • Forge deep relationships with the media and other influencers
  • Organize press briefings, media sessions, and events
  • Prepare briefing materials and work closely with executive spokespeople

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years work experience in technology or consumer product communications environment
