As an Optical Automation Engineer, you will work closely with a cross-functional team of mechatronics engineers to develop optical systems for measurement/inspection and calibration of imaging systems. You will characterize optical challenges and derive solutions to these issues. You will manage projects and work closely with internal and external designers of mechanical fixtures and the device under test to source, build, and create novel optical and mechatronic solutions to real-world manufacturing challenges.
You are skilled both at identifying methods to meet challenging calibration and test requirements, and designing camera and lens systems integrations to achieve these requirements. You are able to build out an optical bench to verify that design parameters are achieved. You are also comfortable working in a production environment to validate test system deployment matches original design intent. You possess the cross-functional knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and software fields to deliver final designs for complex production calibration devices.
