Oculus Research is seeking a Technical Program Manager with network, datacenter infrastructure environment and application experience within the IT ecosystem. The projects support the growth and management of the 24X7 Oculus IT environment.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within Oculus Research, driving huge projects that span the organization. Our team is comprised of varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. Oculus’ infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and we need program managers that can do the same. This is a full-time position based in our office in Redmond.


  • Manage cross-functional projects (infrastructure, financial application, network and security) in a matrixed organization.
  • Provide hands-on program management during all phases of the project lifecycle with an emphasis on communication to project sponsors, stakeholders and project teams.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop and maintain end-to-end project plans and ongoing program/portfolio roadmaps, ensuring on-time delivery including drafting requirements, use and test cases as well as support and escalation plans.
  • Assist individual technical resources to unblock and enable them to focus on what is most impactful to the project and the organization.
  • Ability to map dependencies and relationships between projects and technologies.
  • Prioritize projects based on impact level and leverage data to drive prioritization decisions.
  • Communicate progress to plan on portfolio to sponsor and stakeholders on a regular basis, ensuring that team members are kept up to date on the health and status of the project.
  • Establish working relations with all partners with an emphasis on unblocking team members when they are stuck, providing day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for project and tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in program, project, or technical management.
  • 4+ years experience in system, infrastructure, or network administration in an IT environment.
  • 4+ years’ experience working on data center/infrastructure implementation projects toward security and system hardening.
  • Experience in application requirements and translating needs into capacity plans.
  • Organizational and coordination experience.
  • Working experience in Project Management tools and methodologies such as Scrum, Agile and the Project Management Framework.
