Our Zurich Core Tech team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future Oculus products. From mixed reality and human interaction to natural inputs and beyond, Core Tech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a background in computer graphics and rendering who will drive the development of novel rendering techniques for VR, AR and Mixed Reality headsets. As a graphics engineer, you will be working closely with our researchers and developers to design and implement effective and efficient rendering systems and algorithms. To satisfy the demanding needs of the human vision, you are expected to solve a broad range of technical challenges in the area of real-time image synthesis, from high level graphic APIs down to optimizing low level code, and from physically based rendering to high performance video processing and data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and debug C++ graphics software on multiple hardware/software platforms, profile and optimize performance.
  • Develop prototypes for future VR/AR/MR experiences, drive continued development, and integrate solutions into product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in computer vision and machine learning on large scale simulation, visualization, and evaluation tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Entertainment technology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge in Computer Graphics (high performance real-time and/or physically based rendering, 3D geometry processing and modeling).
  • Expertise with at least one GPU-backed graphics library (Vulkan, OpenGL, Direct3D, Mantle, Metal, etc.) and frameworks such as Unity3D and/or Unreal Engine.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases that span a wide range of teams, platforms and tools.
  • 5+ years of experience developing systems in C++.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science related to Computer Graphics.
  • Experience developing rendering pipelines on mobile platforms.
  • Experience in 3D graphics, Vulkan, and GPGPU techniques.
  • Experience with mobile CPU/GPU programming.
  • Experience working on VR, AR and/or MR.
  • Experience with human vision science.
