Business Operations Manager

Oculus | Redmond, WA - Menlo Park, CA

As the Business Operations Manager for Facebook’s AR/VR Platform Hardware team, you will manage the business operations of multiple hardware product and technology development teams, working closely with the leadership team to help them grow, scale and run the business effectively. You will collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate program reviews and communication, plan and track budgets, develop and manage resourcing plans, enabling our team to execute and innovate at speed.


  • Program management and coordination across HW engineering teams
  • -Work with hardware engineering teams to identify program/project scope, constraints, dependencies, and risks
  • -Identify resources needed and work closely with team leaders to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
  • -Identify technical, legal, procedural, logistical, and communication issues and drive creative solutions to fix them and manage risk
  • -Coordinate communication between internal and external teams
  • -Structure, manage and maintain information repositories, ensuring that the information the team needs is complete, current, accurate, and easy to find
  • -Facilitate hardware program reviews and other key decision-making meetings
  • -Take on ad hoc projects that require coordination across the leadership team
  • Manage cost of hardware product operations through forecasting and tracking budgets
  • -Prepare dashboards and reports for stakeholder and team members on the spend vs. forecasts on a regular cadence
  • -Prepare forecasts (short-term & long-range planning)
  • -Evaluate deviations and causes of deviations from plan
  • Manage headcount growth
  • -Track progress against hiring goals
  • -Track assigned priorities of headcount
  • -Work with facilities on seating assignments of new hires
  • -Manage growth of operations for seating, on-boarding

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or engineering
  • Program management experience with a product development/engineering organization
  • Experience with program management tools, Microsoft and Google Suites and Excel
  • Experience working with Tableau dashboards, and experience pulling data queries from internal systems
  • Experience organizing, tracking and maintaining documentation
  • Demonstrated experience anticipating and recognizing problems, suggesting alternatives or solutions, initiating or implementing solutions, and following through independently
  • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff and external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders
