Graphics System Architect

Facebook AR/VR focuses on delivering Facebook's vision through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of Virtual and Augmented Reality require custom silicon. The Facebook Silicon team is driving the state of the art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. Our chips will enable AR and VR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistor, through architecture, to firmware, and algorithms. We are looking for a Graphics System Architect who will work with a world-class group of engineers and researchers. The ideal candidate needs to have problem solving mind-set, deep understanding in product development, system architecture and proven record of cross-function, multi-disciplinary technology development. They will work with silicon, platform, research and SW teams on HW/SW co-optimization for the AR graphics pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive implementation of scalable telemetry architecture for AR Graphics pipeline.
  • Work with graphics IP owners to define needed telemetry for performance monitoring, silicon debug, power management and graphics pipeline control.
  • Work with silicon and SW teams to utilize telemetry to create new product value (i.e. run time control to optimize power and performance).
  • Drive the concept for other sub-systems beyond graphics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following fields: silicon architecture, system architecture, product development.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical leadership or leadership without authority.
  • Track record of innovation and problem solving.
  • Experience in system level problem solving, HW/SW co-design and cross-function collaboration.
  • Experience working in an ambiguous environment under an execution timeline.
  • Experience in delivering solutions and new technologies from concepts to production.
  • MS EE/CS or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building telemetry architecture for a complex products.
  • Experience in development or design of Graphics IP’s or experience in integration of graphics IP’s into silicon/system.
  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following fields: silicon architecture, system architecture, product development.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical leadership or leadership without authority.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, proactive with demonstrated creative & critical thinking.
