Graphics Engineer, Spatial Computing Runtime Team

The Oculus team at Facebook builds the VR hardware and software to let you experience anything, anywhere, with anyone. The Spatial Computing Runtime team specifically creates the platform software that powers rich, interactive, and collaborative 3D product experiences across our entire product line.
As a Graphics Engineer on the Spatial Computing Runtime team, you will design and implement the graphics software that drives product experiences across all Oculus products. The ideal candidate has broad experience with graphics runtime systems and programming techniques on at least one desktop and at least one mobile platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features in the 3D runtime engine that powers experiences across the Oculus product lines.
  • Investigate, understand, and improve software performance.
  • Extend this engine and support it in shipping products.
  • Work closely with other teams who are building experiences using this engine.
  • Work on Windows and Android platforms.
  • Develop innovative graphics techniques, algorithms, and tools to maximize graphics quality and performance.
  • Work closely with other Oculus teams to align with and enhance underlying OS and compositor functionality.
  • Write high-quality, performant, and maintainable code.
  • Document and support graphics engine systems and features.
  • Coordinate and collaborate smoothly across multiple internal and external cross-disciplinary teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience with C/C++ programming, including on low-level systems.
  • 5+ years of work experience developing and launching software products for PC, console, or mobile platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience with 3D graphics programming, including shaders, rendering pipeline and low-level systems.
  • Experience with at least one of Vulkan, DirectX, or OpenGL.
  • Knowledge of modern rendering algorithms, linear algebra, and compression algorithms.
  • 5+ years experience with game engines including Unreal, Unity, or custom native engines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience shipping AAA game titles.
  • Experience with Android development.
