Integration Engineer

As an Integration Engineer in the AR/VR Product Team, you will partner with internal design teams in the development of prototypes and high volume consumer products. You will function as an expert in Design for Excellence (DFx) methods and will advise mechanical and electrical design engineers in implementing DFx into their designs. You will guide the integration of product elements and run process experiments to achieve optimized designs. As an expert in assembly methods, you will work with external partners to improve designs, define processes, and develop equipment to manufacture and verify industry leading products. We seek candidates with the ability to collaborate with internal design teams and external production partners to ensure robust product designs, testing methods, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Advise internal design teams in DFx (design for manufacturability, assembly, test and verification, safety, reliability, compliance, etc.)
  • Lead DFx activities including DFx reviews, Failure Modes and Effect Analyses (FMEA) for Design and Processes, and Process Reviews
  • Manage internal and external partner teams in the execution of process design, experimentation, and bring-up
  • Manage external vendors in the design, creation, and qualification of assembly and test equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years industry experience in development and delivery of high volume products
  • Experience with mass production (working with both domestic and overseas manufacturing) on multiple high volume consumer products
  • Experience with DFx and Process Development methodologies for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with fabrication and assembly processes including joining methods, sealing methods, mechanical assembly methods, and assembly testing
  • Experience with managing external vendors to deliver on schedule
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with 2D and 3D tolerance analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with high precision assembly processes for high volume products
  • Experience with high speed automation and mechanized assembly and testing
