Facebook Reality Labs in Pittsburgh is looking for an exceptional Technical Program Managers to help create, deploy, and manage state-of-the-art motion-capture systems to revolutionize photorealistic telepresence in virtual reality. Our goal? To enable the ability to interact with anyone, anytime, anywhere. We have made some important advances, but it will take a team with a wide spectrum of skills to fully realize this goal. Every day, you will work alongside expert Research Scientists, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Software Engineers to create the technology that will make VR and AR pervasive and universal.   • Develop schedules based on product requirements, technical challenges, and research needs.
  • Work with construction teams around the globe to ensure that system specifications are translated to functional systems.
  • Identify critical path and bottlenecks, use those as input to develop project plans that reduce risk and meet research timeline requirements.
  • Effectively communicate program status to key cross functional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Work with cross-discipline teams to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment, creating one of a kind cutting edge hardware and software systems.
  • Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans.
  • Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in hardware or software program management and experience working in a cross-functional development environment.
  • 2+ years experience leading, developing, and scaling TPM or engineering teams.
  • Proven experience with operating autonomously across multiple teams and or sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building sensing systems which include cameras, depth sensors, IMUs, microphones, etc.
