Facebook’s AR/VR Experiences team is exploring the potential of virtual and augmented reality to bring people together in new ways. We are designing technologies that help people to create, share meaningful moments, and build communities using the unique qualities of these immersive new mediums. We aim to develop experiences that put people first, defining a future where virtual reality enables us to connect with the people and content we care about like never before.

As a Director of Product Management, you will manage a team building features designed to help customers enter and enjoy Horizon’s user created worlds and meet people to enjoy them with. Your team will build features that help Horizon creators realize their vision in Horizon’s creative tools, and that help consumers explore Horizon to discover new worlds and communities.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Product leader with a background building consumer-facing experiences, “two sided marketplaces” of consumers and creators, tools for building online communities, and/or interactive social experiences in games or virtual reality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Product Managers and lead the ideation, technical development and launch of Horizon
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of Horizon’s features
  • Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers, designers and user researchers
  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
  • Drive forward our understanding of how Virtual Reality can positively impact people’s lives
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
  • Offer organizational design thinking to best structure the team and equip them for success in their goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in Product Management
  • 12+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams
  • 8+ years of management experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
  • Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience
  • Product leadership in crafting emerging experiences
  • Experience in platform/ecosystem products, marketplaces
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
