Oculus Studios and Beat Games are looking for a Level Designer to join our studio in Prague to help take Beat Saber to the next level.

This is a key role in building the future of VR games and entertainment with the Beat Games team. This is a growing team of leaders in the VR industry at the cutting edge of where music and games come together. You will be responsible for creating new levels of Beat Sabre game.

Beat Games is an award-winning game studio based in Prague, Czech Republic. Their first VR game title, Beat Saber, became an overnight success selling more than 1 million copies in the first 10 months and collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the music industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to create great new levels of the game.
  • Take ownership of the creation of both visual and music part of the design.
  • Proactively seek and analyse player feedback and incorporate it into new designs.
  • Continuously look for improvements for the game.
  • Work within technical constraints of the game.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expert+ level Beat Saber player.
  • A high level of care and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of syncopation and has an understanding of complex polyrhythms.
  • Ability to be creative working under constraints
  • Strong customer focus and experience in working with user feedback to inform the roadmap.
  • High collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A music related education or experience as a musician.
  • Avid rhythm games player.
