The FRL team at Facebook is helping more people around the world come together and connect through world-class AR/VR hardware and software. With global departments dedicated to research, computer vision, machine learning, haptics, social interaction, and more, FRL is committed to driving the state of the art forward through relentless innovation. The potential to change the world is immense - and we’re just getting started.
Augmented and Virtual reality will transform the way people come together to work and play. Through understanding of human appearance, movement and expression, we aim to make it possible for people to feel like they are directly in front of each other, despite being separated by vast distances. We are investing in avatar and hologram capabilities that increasingly lead to high fidelity authentic representations of people in VR and AR. We are also investing in People Insight technologies, to detect, track and understand people in the scene.
Our Zurich team is focused on taking new machine perception technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up. We are looking for experienced software engineers with a track record in computer vision, machine learning and graphics for a broad range of topics, from segmentation, face tracking, body tracking, depth sensing to 3D stereo reconstruction, avatars, character animation and virtual try-ons.
As a Computer Vision Engineer, you’ll be working closely with Research (Facebook Reality Labs) and solving challenges at the forefront of computer vision that bridge the gap between virtual and real. You’ll be setting technical direction for the projects you work on and helping engineers around you. We're looking for you to usher in the next era of human - computer interaction by solving hard and exciting computer vision problems.
