Display Electrical Engineer

At Facebook AR/VR Hardware, we’re developing the future of wearable, portal, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products. As a Display Electrical Engineer, you will be a member of our Display Hardware Team, taking a lead in display electrical design to set the technical goals, lead the development of leading edge technologies, and working with the current and evolving ecosystem to provide differentiating capabilities to our HW platforms. You will be part of a tight-knit group of highly talented engineers at the forefront of the innovation for FB HW products (AR/VR, portal etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the display subsystem electrical design including display driver IC (DDIC) validation, display module flex design, ESD and EMI mitigation feature design and display interface definition
  • Author display electrical requirements and spec, review and approve vendor design proposals, documenting test methodology, test workbook and component electrical qualification criteria, and support the system validation and quality control process
  • Display module power up and test setup creation/development
  • Work closely with display IC, panel and module vendors throughout the design, sample and engineering validation phases
  • Work with internal cross functional team to establish display module system integration and analysis electrical pros/cons by display backplane design
  • Work with supply chain teams in display module and component vendor evaluation and selection
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of working experience
  • Experience with display electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation
  • Experience with various high-speed serial display electrical interfaces standards, and MIPI and eDP protocol design/testing/implementation
  • Experience with SPI and I2C interfaces
  • Experience with EMI and ESD risks and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with mixed signal IC design, fabrication and validation process
  • Experience in display electrical test system development
  • Experience in scientific programming, signal processing and data analysis
  • Experience with display driver IC supply base and close relationship with the vendor ecosystem
  • Experience with driving cross-functional projects
  • Experience communication skills
  • Experience with cross-functional teamwork skills
  • Experience with logical and creative thinking

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering
