Creators Lab 3.0

As part of the Oculus VR for Good initiative, Creators Lab pairs rising content creators with worthwhile causes to create great VR experiences that showcase the need for social change. All selected participants will join us in California for our Creators Summit—two and a half days of workshops, brainstorming, mentoring, and community building held June 6 – 8, 2018. The Summit kicks off the Creators Lab collaborative period, followed by proposal, production, and post-production phases.

VR has the ability to foster empathy across diverse groups of people and transport us to almost any situation. Through Creators Lab, we’re able to spread awareness of meaningful causes in our communities and beyond while also highlighting the transformative potential of VR—and we’re just getting started.

Like all art, VR can change our lives for the better. We can’t wait to see more content that affects us emotionally and challenges us to rethink our assumptions.

Creators + Causes

Filmmakers are the driving force behind each project and should have some experience working with VR. They’ll work closely with Oculus, our panel of advisors, and their assigned cause to create a moving and engaging VR piece.

Nonprofits supporting social good causes will act as project consultants and authorities in their field. They’ll offer story ideas, insights, and on-the-ground expertise to help the filmmaker create something magical.

Advisory Panel

Our panel of advisors will be chosen for their wide range of expertise and leadership in the VR community. They’ll be available throughout the entire project length to offer guidance and support.
