ARRAY TOOL FREEFORM

Just when you thought the array tool was all about symmetry, let’s take a look at this stump and see how we can use it to create organic structures. With snapping turned off, turn on your duplicate tool, then grab a duplicate copy of the stump, apply a slight amount of shrinking, with a bit of rotation, and release it at the edge of the stump. We will then use the array tool to create organic shapes, and at any point, you can always break the array and customize a new curve, or branch outwards. Try using this to create a unique tree.
Important

  • Please be aware that this one tree can use a lot of objects, so we recommend using elongated pieces, and not letting them get too small.
